Dear Plasmafunkguy
I've got a pressing question, maybe you can help. i actually have 2 questions to ask you. I've been a
faithful reader of your webpage and i have found that you have most of the answers to all of life's
pickely (have no clue if that's the correct spelling or not) questions. I mean, the juicy juice kid
really showed me that boys really do have ONE THING on their minds! well here are my questions....How
come if there's a pacific time zone, why can't there be an atlantic time zone instead of eastern...i mean
honestly, you can say western and eastern, but shouldn't the other ocean (atlantic) get as much credit as
the pacific? Have you ever been caught by those deals that sound like they're a steal, but they turn out
to have a horrible catch written in small print? I've been lookin for cell phone deals and i saw one that
looked so amazing! it's $30 bucks a month and i get unlimited nights and weekends, free long distance,
and no roaming charges...sounds great right? WRONG! the phone cost over $200! Why do disclaimers
have to be so damn small! I have a suggestion, if you ever put a disclaimer on your webpage, make sure
it's bold and on the top of the page. Thank you
~Brooke V.
p.s. if you ever want to make fun of rednecks/hillbillies, please don't automatically assume that i am one of these just because i live in tennessee...k?
Hey Brookvee,
First, I would like to thank you for reading our stuff and taking the time to write in to us. As far as your questions go, I think I have an answer for you, but I am still unsure of what any of this has to with pickles. Anyways, the Pacific Ocean is the biggest, baddest ocean out there. It makes both the Alantic and Indian Oceans look like...well...not so big oceans. I think the Pacific Ocean definitely deserves to have a time zone named after it. The Atlantic Ocean is not as deserving of such an honor. It would be like putting a Al Gore on Mount Rushmore. You just don't put vice presidents on Mount Rushmore. However, somehow the Alantic Ocean slipped through the rules of the system and managed to get a time zone named after it. There is in fact an Atlantic Time Zone. Nova Scotia is in it! Also, it only makes sense that they didn't name the Eastern Time Zone the Atlantic Time Zone. There are eight states in the United States in the Eastern Time Zone that don't even touch the Atlantic Ocean, including the Eastern fourth of your fine state. Unlike the Eastern Time Zone, Nevada is the only state in the Pacific Time Zone that doesn't border the Pacific Ocean. Also, every part of the Atlantic Time Zone (up in Canada) borders the Atlantic Ocean. So, when you look at all the facts, everything makes a lot of sense. It turns out the people that were naming the time zones really knew their stuff. Who would've guessed it? As for your other questions, the reason they make disclaimers so small is because they're hoping you won't see them and then you'll buy the product thinking it's a "steal." They're all out to make money and they'll do most anything to get money. And, no, I've never been caught by one of those deals. I'm Plasmafunkguy! I'm invincible! (Beacause I'm made of plasma.) I don't think we'll be having any disclaimers on this site in the near future, but if we do, I'll be sure they're easy to read. (Just for you.) I'm kinda disappointed that you couldn't figure this stuff out on your own. I guess it's just because you're from Tennessee. Oh well, thanks for the e-mail. Everyone, please send me more e-mail!! I need it to survive!! AAHHH! I'm melting!!! Melting!!!
P.S. Why do some of your sentences start with capital letters and some of them start with lowercase letters? Just a thought.
